Happy New Year !

Happy New Year to friends far and near!

May 2009 find your spirit as strong as the ox, your patience as long as the gentle cow, and your heart as light as a calf in spring.

Though this picture of black swans swimming in the castle moat in a very rare snowstorm was taken a few years ago in Japan at New Year's, it strongly mirrors the weather here in Nova Scotia as a blizzard has swept in for New Years Day.

Happy holidays to you too! Wow, is it the ox's year, 2009? It's "my year" then :) By the way, is that a good thing or not?

I like your blog and your nice pictures! Im sorry I hardly leave any comments (annotations?). That's because my spelling in English is not that good and I have to look in a dictionary for every other word. It takes some time and also it is hard to find the right expression or wording. I'll try to get better. It wouldn't hurt to practise my English ;-)

Wishing you the very best 2009!

It is indeed your year, so it must be lucky for you. Hoping everything good for you in Lucky Ox Year 2009!

You can practice your English here any time. :)

Happy New Year to you and the family, Robb. Seems like you have a long holiday there, and Christmas in summer sounds like a heck of a lot of fun!

I'll be following your blog too. And I'll try to get a few more recipes up soon. Any requests?

Nice to hear from you. Thanks!

I have many memories of walking in that castle's grounds but only one in a snowfall. Snow is very rare and fleeting in Shikoku these days. I was lucky that it was a holiday so I had time to take pictures.

O-shogatsu! Happy Year of the Ox!

Akemashite omedetou!! Hi VJ, love your blog, sweet memories. Sometimes I think blogging helps me stay sane, nes pa?

Hey, Martin:

Happy New Year to you and thanks for the great blogging last year, though I'm not sure sanity is a to-be wished-for attribute in a blogger.:)

But yes, writing helps us make sense of our lives, and hopefully connections that let us encourage each other and even fight the insanity that seems to be running the world sometimes. For that, I love it and appreciate all the time, effort, and yes, love that exsits in the blogs of the world. Long may they flourish!
